Gladiator Performance
Gladiator Engine
Two engine options are available for the 2022 Jeep Gladiator: a 3.6-liter gas V6 with 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 with 260 horsepower and a strong 442 pound-feet of torque. Only the gas V6 is offered with a six-speed manual transmission. Both engines come with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard four-wheel drive.
In stop-and-go traffic, the six-speed manual transmission is relatively smooth, though its sloppy clutch engagement may be a nuisance. The eight-speed automatic is the star of the show, rifling through its ratios fast and cleanly.

When equipped with the gas V6 with manual transmission, the Jeep Gladiator achieves an EPA-estimated 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway (17/22 mpg with the automatic).
